Who Wants a Discount on Their Insurance?

TAMPA, FL - Why would anyone want a discount? Seems like a silly question, huh? EVERYONE wants a discount on literally any and everything. We’re used to getting discounts at restaurants and from our cellular phone carriers, for example, but what about from your insurance company?


Most people aren’t aware of the certain insurance discounts that may be available for them. Did you know by “going paperless” and receiving all important documents through email you might be able to receive a discount on your insurance?   • Safe Driving: If you haven’t been in an accident for the last 5 years, congrats. You get a discount for keeping it safe on the roads.

  • Safe Driving Apps for Smartphones: These apps are designed to study how often someone drives, at what time of the day they’re driving, how often they’re accelerating or braking, etc. For safe drivers, they will be able to see a discount on their next premium.

That was definitely more than a few but we just get carried away because this stuff is exciting, right?!


It’s been proven that people respond to discounts and attempt to look for them in any aspect of their purchasing decisions. Dr. Paul J. Zack, professor of Neuroeconomics at Claremont Graduate University, led a study designed to measure the overall mood and happiness of a group of people after they were given a coupon. “Together, they discovered that coupon recipients who got a $10 voucher experienced a 38% rise in oxytocin levels and were 11% happier than those who didn’t receive a coupon. Furthermore, their respiration rates dropped 32%, heart rates decreased by 5%, and sweat levels were reportedly 20 times lower than their peers. Consequently, they felt more relaxed and less stressed,” (Campaign Monitor, “What Science Says About Discounts, Promotions and Free Offers”). 


So, yes, this is a science. 


Not only do people feel happier, but they feel even more confident in their purchasing process than they did before.
